Heflin won his supporting-actor Oscar for Johnny Eager (1942), starred in Shane (1953) and 3:10 to Yuma (1957), and brought a darker edge to the disaster classic Airport (1970) as a troubled airline passenger. Here, his name gets a red-and-white, winged VH treatment that belongs visually to a rather louder corner of popular culture. Classic Hollywood meets classic rock, without either side being consulted about the seating arrangements.
