The Father of Modern Chicago Blues.

McKinley Morganfield was born in Mississippi in 1913. He grew up picking cotton and playing guitar in the Delta tradition of Robert Johnson and Son House. In 1943, he got on a train to Chicago with a guitar and almost nothing else.

What happened next changed everything.

Muddy Waters plugged in his guitar, turned it up, and invented electric Chicago blues. He signed to Chess Records, recorded "Rollin' Stone," "Hoochie Coochie Man," and "Mannish Boy" — and in doing so, handed the blueprint for rock and roll to every musician who came after him. The Rolling Stones named themselves after his song. Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin all traced their roots directly back to this man.

He didn't just influence rock and roll. He built the foundation it stands on.

This shirt is for the people who know where it all started.
