Darker. Rawer. More Dangerous Than the Stones.

London, 1963. Dick Taylor — the original Rolling Stones bassist — left the Stones before they were famous and formed a new band with Phil May. They called themselves The Pretty Things, named after a Bo Diddley song.

They were louder, wilder, and more confrontational than anything else coming out of Britain at the time. The Rolling Stones were dangerous. The Pretty Things were the band the Stones' parents were actually afraid of. They were banned from venues across the UK. New Zealand banned them from the country entirely.

Their 1968 album S.F. Sorrow is widely considered the first rock opera — predating the Who's Tommy by a year. Almost nobody gave them credit for it at the time.

This tank is for the people who know the band that was too much even for the 60s.
