"Yes" Premium Unisex T-Shirt
Regular price $27.99The Band That Refused to Play It Safe.
In 1969, a group of British musicians decided that rock and roll didn't have to be simple. Yes built compositions that ran twenty minutes, incorporated classical structure, jazz improvisation, and orchestral ambition into music that still had the energy of a live band playing at full volume. They were technically extraordinary and completely uncompromising about it.
Jon Anderson's voice. Steve Howe's guitar. Rick Wakeman's keyboards — a wall of Moogs, Mellotrons, and grand pianos that redefined what a rock band could sound like. Chris Squire's bass, which was never just a bass — it was a lead instrument that drove the whole machine. Bill Bruford, and later Alan White, holding it all together with precision that most drummers still study.
Fragile. Close to the Edge. Tales from Topographic Oceans. Going for the One. Albums that demanded your full attention and rewarded it completely. "Roundabout" introduced millions to what the band could do in under nine minutes. "Heart of the Sunrise" showed what they could do when they had no limits at all.
Yes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 — decades after they'd already proven they belonged there.
This tee is for the people who know every note of Close to the Edge and aren't embarrassed about it.
