Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have been writing songs together since they were teenagers on a train platform in Dartford, England. They called their production partnership the Glimmer Twins. Between them, they built the greatest rock and roll catalog in history.
In 1971, they recorded "Brown Sugar" in Muscle Shoals, Alabama — one take, raw and unfiltered, the opening track on Sticky Fingers. It became one of the most recognizable guitar riffs ever committed to tape. Keith Richards wrote it in about five minutes.
That's what 60 years of pure cane soul looks like.
